We price interior demolition by the square foot, which keeps things honest and easy to understand. Light selective demolition, meaning removing cabinets, fixtures, flooring, or a single wall, runs $2.50 to $3.75 per square foot. A full interior gut, taking a space down to the studs and subfloor, runs $3.50 to $5.50 per square foot.

For a typical kitchen, you are usually in the light-to-moderate range, since you are pulling cabinets, countertops, appliances, and flooring rather than every wall. A full bathroom gut often pushes toward the higher end per square foot because of tile, plumbing fixtures, and tight working space, even though the room is small. Commercial interiors run $3.00 to $5.00 per square foot.

What Drives the Price

Several factors move an interior demolition quote:

• Scope. Pulling cabinets and flooring is lighter work than removing walls, tile, and subfloor.
• Tile and plaster. These are slow and heavy to remove, which is why full bathroom guts cost more per square foot.
• Plumbing and electrical. Capping and removing fixtures safely takes time.
• Debris volume. Disposal is a real line item. Our 30 yard roll-off dumpster is $425 and includes up to 3 tons, which covers many single-room gut jobs.
• Protecting the rest of the home. Dust control and protecting floors and finishes that stay add a bit of labor.

When Load Pricing Makes More Sense

Some jobs are really about hauling, not demolition. If the cabinets are already out and you just need the debris and old fixtures gone, our load pricing is often the better deal: a quarter load is $249, a half load is $399, a three-quarter load is $549, and a full load is $699.
